We need your help!

Some of you may remember the “Otaki Orchard Colony”, we found out while working on this project that it was just a “sub colony” of a much larger stray cat population. Thankfully we were able to de-sex most of the cats from the Orchard Colony and bring some of the kittens into foster care. We are now starting to work on the large stray cat population covering a large area along the Otaki river and beyond, a project we are naming “The Otaki Corridor” . We had to hit the ground running, so have already taken in 3 kittens, one of which had a large abscess on his jaw. The mom of these kittens is now speyed. We have at least 7 other females to trap and 2-3 males just at one location, and 35 cats at another! All need to be FIV/FELV tested, De-sexed, Microchipped, etc

Most will be T-N-R (Trap-Neuter-Return) cats, which we truly depend on donations, as we can’t recoup the costs from adoption fees.  Sadly some are quite sick, mainly with FELV and will need to be humanely euthanised.

We want to give these cats the best chance at living a healthy life, but we can’t do it without your help. With kitten season in full swing, the bills for food, medical and overall care are pilling up. Please help by donating even if you can only spare just a little bit for these cats.
