Help Us Support Freckles on Her Healing Journey

Freckles has come a long way since being rescued as a stray, where she was found alongside her kittens and nephews. While her kittens and most of her little family have since found loving homes, Freckles and her sweet nephew Darcy are still in foster care, patiently waiting for their forever families.

Recently, during her routine vet check-up, Freckles was diagnosed with Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesions (FORL) – a painful dental condition where the body starts to break down the structure of the teeth. This is especially unusual for such a young cat; Freckles is only 3 years and 9 months old.

She’s already undergone surgery to remove three affected teeth and several deteriorated root systems. While she’s recovering well, and her soft food is now happily devoured at mealtimes, Freckles will likely need further surgeries as her condition progresses.

We’re so grateful to the amazing team at Otaki Vets and to Mikaela for the loving care they’ve given Freckles. And of course, we’re endlessly thankful for her dedicated foster parents who go above and beyond every single day.
